Track day! And legs. Mile warm-up jog. 10 minutes of bleachers. 10 x 400m each one has to be 10 seconds faster than the other until you fail then repeat back up until you total 10 sets. Rest is walk 100 yards. Then run a mile back to where you started. Swim with fins later.

Unless you are living under a rock, the World Cup in America is something I never thought I would enjoy so much. Not a big soccer fan, period. BUT the interactions with fans from across the world and Americans / American culture have been more entertaining than I imagined.

We had another awesome Summer Seminar Workout today at the Naval Academy with 800+ high school seniors, Midshipmen and the Superintendent! Class of 91 LTGen Borgschulte. Good week of fun stuff so far!

Week 13 of SPRING gives an opportunity to assess yourself and see where your strengths and weaknesses are after recent cycles, sport seasons, or other athletic activity you have been doing. Usually, this makes you strong in some fintess components and weak in others. Just how week is the key to figuring out what you need to focus on this next cycle.

You know the story of Groundhog Day. The groundhog comes out to assess the weather situation to determine if it will be an early Spring or 4-6 more weeks of Winter. That is what we are doing as well. Depending on the scores of various lifts, calisthenics, and cardio events, you may need to do a few more weeks of lifting or be ready to shift focus and get into more calisthenics/cardio-based training.

Depending on your goals, if you worked hard all winter to get stronger and more durable and put on some mass, you may need to continue that for another month or so. If you have met your goals, it is time to move into muscle stamina and progressive endurance (run, ruck, swim) focused cycle - aka Spring Training.

These are two classic transition options built with Block Periodization that will take 3 weeks of your focused element of fitness and do a 4th week of a deload from that focus and work on the opposite. For instance, the Winter Lift Cycles below have 3 weeks of lifting and 1 week of calisthenics/cardio as a deload week from the lift. The Spring Training Cycles below have 3 weeks of cals/cardio progression and 1 week of lifting (running miles decrease). The 3:1 ratio continues for 12 weeks in both cycles, with week number 13 being the "tactical groundhog" assessment week. Because - "if you aren't assessing - you are just guessing."

CSS done well. Streamline a solid kick off the wall is good but not sure the breaststroke pull out is needed at this point. I would say just need to work on that kick a little bit and whip it harder think of it like a B Skip on that top leg.

It focuses on the "Never Quit Mindset," evaluating training volume, weight goals, and physical or mental milestones to ensure steady progress.

Incorporating Accountability into Your Routine

To adopt his methodology into your own tactical fitness or weight loss program, focus on these core elements:

Friday Check-ins: Use Fridays to measure your progress against your weekly goals, whether it is body weight, run times, or specific calisthenics numbers.

Define Your Victory: Set specific, measurable milestones rather than vague goals. Know exactly what your PFT (Physical Fitness Test) numbers need to be.

Join the Community: Participate in weekly live Q&A sessions and group discussions to keep yourself engaged and answer any training questions you may have.

The "Buddy System": Pairing up with a training partner naturally increases accountability, pushes you to higher performance levels, and replicates the team-oriented mindset needed for service.
