Steve and Andy went 1-2 at Mount Davis Challenge this weekend. Steve won by almost 5 minutes! The promoter ran the 45+, 55+, and 65+ in the same race. Steve and the front group of 4 were climbing together steadily - doing a hard tempo - then they looked back and everyone else was gone! On the 3rd climb, Steve had a mechanical, got gapped by the lead group, and ended up riding the rest of the race solo. Andy stayed with a smaller group (him and another rider in his age group), but rode hard and finished a second ahead for second.

It’s taken a lot of hard work and these results prove what hard work can do. Congrats!

Some sights from Black Hills Circuit Race. It was the first race in 17 years for Steve and the first road race in 2 years for Adrian. Very tough hilly race - it’s either up or down on a short circuit, with very little flat (the only flat section has a big curve in it, so there’s no resting). Steve stayed with the field and showed what a Cat 1 motor looks like. Adrian got gapped with about 3 to go, but kept fighting and finished on the lead lap (and as the highest placed Cat 4). We’re looking forward to more success throughout the year.

You wouldn’t wear a suit without getting it tailored. Getting a good fit is equally as important for performance on the bike. Our Adrian Monza got fitted at Richardson Bike Fit and reports that it’s made a big difference. Chris didn’t make any big changes, rather a series of small changes that together make a big difference. He’s been training since and said that it made a big comfort difference.
