REMINDER: Stars will have annual fundraiser at Texas Roadhouse in Marion tomorrow. It will be from open to close so you can go by anytime to eat, order to go , or grab gift cards for stocking stuffers. All you HAVE TO REMEMBER IS SAY YOUR HERE FOR RISING STARS! Hello again, stars parents and players will be doing our last fundraiser of the year. We do it every year. It’s a very small easy fundraiser but we’re lucky to have that opportunity so we keep doing it. We will be back again at Texas roadhouse in Marion Illinois on December 8, you can go there all day while they’re open and all you have to do is tell them you are here for the SV rising stars fundraiser Once you do that they will donate a percentage of the sales to the program. You can use this for food you can use this to go. You can use this for gift cards for people for Christmas. We will be posting out the details on a flyer of it here in a bit, but it will be December 8 at Marion Texas roadhouse spread the word. Fill the house if there’s guys you know that want to watch some Monday night football say hey man Monday Night Football is on there go have some food and while you’re there just say hey we’re here for the rising stars and I’ll go back to us Again it’s not a very big fundraiser for us. Typically you know we’ll make $100 to $200 off of it but all you gotta do is show up there’s no work involved or you can show up and just pick it up to go or send someone to pick it up for you and tell Togo worker your here for the sv rising stars If you have any questions please contact Anthony at 618-513-3910.

Finally got all of the fundraiser money turned in and now for the fun stuff.

We do 2 winners each year that raise the most money. This year we will do a 3rd because of support from commiunity.

Kids that win get to choose a gift card and it will be awarded to players by coaches. (Apologize for spelling if any names are incorrect)

3rd place - Rylee Morgan ($75 gift card)

2nd place - Piper Giacone ($100 gift card)

1st Place - Mattalyn Beers ($300 gift card)

Total amount raised was $1,535.60

This will go towards this season as well as in future shootouts/tournaments, concessions, donation to valier church for letting us use gym, coaches equipment, basketballs, first aid kits, future insurance cost for kids and covering all costs for kids after their first year joining stars.

We are probably only organization for kids that is 100% FREE for kids after first year (kids can participate up to 4 years in Stars) as long as they participate in fundraising. This is a major way we can accomplish free play for kids every year, when other youth organizations in area can charge over $100 per kid per year to play. Sports are expensive enough.

Fundraising is done for the year except in December we will have our annual dine in to donate at Texas Roadhouse in Marion. We will do details closer to time.

STARS parents remember practices at Old Gym going forward will be 5:45, we had to tweak from 5:30. Do not show up more than 5 minutes before practice.

Also if you haven’t turned in shootathon money for shots made you need to turn into coach by Thursday. We will announce winners after that.

Wednesday - 6:50-8:15 @ Old Gym
Thursday - 5-6:30 @ Valier

5:45-7:15
Wednesday - 5:45-6:45

Reminder do NOT show up/drop off kids more than 5 minutes before practice. Gym will be used until around 5:30 most nights going forward plus they have to get their gear and be picked up before we start showing up and going in gym.

This Saturday will be shootathon at OLD GYM so anyone who hasn’t turned in money needs to. Cutoff will be day of shootout. If your doing per shot donation please keep your sheet until week after to collect amount per shot made.

We will do following on Saturday shooting
(Boys an girls of each grade)

8:00 4th graders
9:00 5th graders
10:00 2nd/3rd graders

Wednesdays practice was intense, kids were being pushed to continue to get better. Thursday’s practice will be as follows

2nd/3rd/4th/ and ALL girls - 5:30-7:00 at old gym (very IMPORTANT REMINDER - jr high basketball is starting up so do not show up to old gym more than 5 minutes prior to practice it creates a logjam in parking, also as weather gets colder do not drop kids off and leave because they cannot enter gym until jr high has finished and we do not want them out in the cold)

5th grade boys - 5:00-6:30 at Valier

Schedules will be given out Saturday at fundraiser.
