The March academy will be March 11,12 & 13 in order to accommodate a team from North of the border. We are still in the planning stages but we will be hosting it out of Oconee.

Hosting in Oconee allows us to grow our relationship with a city who are rolling the red carpet out and gives us much more flexibility with session times as we can use the field any time day or night.

I am working on getting the use of the gym, classrooms and should we stay in a hotel it has an outdoor saltwater pool, possible use for and ice bath at least!

We are also beginning plans for a Canada trip in JulyAugust so I will need everyone to submit any dates they are unavailable.

I will provide a more detailed email coming soon but pleas contact me with questions comments or concerns

Hello all,

Jus a friendly reminder that the academy is next weekend and as such payments are due. Please pay in advance if possible. Also if you still have an outstanding balance please make sure this is addressed. This months guest coach is EIRA coach Brendan Keane, who will is looking forward to seeing what RSC has to offer. We will also be joined by several Clemson players, Marty Sarkees and I would be glad to have any of your home coaches join us.

The academy will be switched in March to either 11/12/13 or 25/26/27 the later being Easter weekend. Unfortunately rugger fest has taken over. Should this be an issue I may have to stack later months with 2 sessions.

Please contact me on your preference of these two dates and if neither work please let me know.

For March the venue will also change due to the availability of our lodge. As the director I have had to make a call and for March it will be in Oconee county. They are rolling out the red carpet for us and while I'm sure many may think that I am doing it for my own agenda I can assure you all that there is growth for the state here in Oconee. We will work with a hotel to get a very reasonable rate and we may even secure our own lodging within the next few months!

I would also like to bring the academy to Charleston for our May camp and am seeking to play a game with another team. If anyone in the Charleston area would be able to assist in finding a place to do his or knows a team who would like to play I would greatly appreciate the help.

I'm sorry for any inconvenience this causes people there are always things beyond our control. Have faith in our growth

All

We have to confirm who is going to Bermuda by tonight. Please contact me as soon as possible if you intend on going. You will need a passport and the cost is $800 all in.

See more info below:

We have been invited to attend a tournament in March and I wanted to gauge interest. We would take 12 players on this trip and it's for those who have genuine interest in 7s. As this is out of the blue the academy cannot fund the trip. The total cost will be $800 and we will fly out of Charlotte on the Thursday and back in on the Sunday. We will be staying right off the beach.

In order to go you would need a passport.
Please read over the details below. The cost of the trip will depend on where you fly from but once there the trip is only $100 per player.
Contact me immediately with any interest. The selection process for this has not fully been determined but the large factor is the desire to play high level 7s. Your fitness and speed from the past weekend will also be a contributing factor.

We have several players with outstanding balances. I appreciate that last month was tight for everyone however the academy does operate on a very close budget. If you are yet to pay for the month of January please pay immediately.

As a reminder the fee is a fixed rate regardless of attendance. Any non payment may result in your player missing out on events.

Payments go to the RSC accountant or can be made via paypal.

All take a look at this link it shows the unders line we have been working on with the drift line we touched on in the first session. Keep playing the stacking out in your head and try to run the timing of players around you.

Academy attendees:

The address for check in is Address: 790 Roe Ford Road, Greenville, SC 29617.

Check in can commence after 4 pm. The first on field session will be at Furman beginning at 10. we will run a little later this month as some academy players cannot check in until the Saturday morning due to other commitments. Saturday morning check in will be at 9:00 at the lodge.

We will be covering ALL of the expectations of camp in our first "classroom" session. Addressing things like respecting our family, community, and sport. We will also address the safety aspects of the camp and discuss how we can make our rugby culture in the state better. The boys will also construct the behavioral code for the camp and the behavior matrix will be guided using the theory of Harry Wong.

A full itinerary will be available soon. I will post it in the team app so please make sure you check in there. I use the website a lot to update information so please refer to the website first.

Boys need to pack ALL rugby gear they normally need for a match… x3 (there will be 3 separate field practices)

They need to bring their own toiletries.

Sheets, towels, etc. are provided (though I would definitely have your atlete bring an extra towel or 2).

Looking forward to a great weekend
Coach
