Another Memorial Day Murph in the books at Proverb.

Every year this workout reminds us that fitness is about so much more than calories burned, PRs, or leaderboard scores. It’s about challenge, sacrifice, community, and honoring something bigger than ourselves.

Seeing so many people come together this morning, all different fitness levels, all pushing through the same workout side by side, is exactly what makes this community special. Some people finished their first Murph, some their fifteenth, but every single person showed up with effort, heart, and respect for what the day represents.

Proud of this crew and grateful for the community we’ve built together. Thank you to everyone who came out and shared the morning with us.

Hyrox is taking over the fitness world, and if you’re thinking about racing, you’re probably wondering how to train for it.

Here’s what I learned after competing in multiple Hyrox races, both individual and with a partner.

CrossFit already gives you most of what you need. The strength, the functional movements, the conditioning, it’s all there.

The one thing most people miss? Running volume. Hyrox is a running event at its core. Eight 1km runs woven between the workout stations, and if your legs aren’t built for it, you’ll feel it fast.

I broke down exactly how I trained, where most “Hyrox-specific” programs fall short, and put together a full sample training week you can plug in right now.

Memorial Day at Proverb

1 mile run. 100 pull-ups. 200 push-ups. 300 air squats. 1 mile run. — In honor of Navy SEAL Lt. Michael P. Murphy, who gave his life for his teammates on June 28, 2005.

Every rep is for him. All levels welcome. Scaled options available.

CrossFit has never been about everyone doing the exact same thing. It’s about everyone chasing the same stimulus at the level that fits them.

One athlete may be moving faster and lifting heavier. Another may be modifying movements and pacing differently. Both are training hard, improving fitness, and becoming more capable for life.

As a coach, this is the stuff that fires me up

Watching our athletes step outside the gym and take on something completely different like a strongman competition, and not just survive but compete, it means the training is doing exactly what it’s supposed to do

We don’t train for one thing, we train for anything

Strength, conditioning, grit, confidence, it all carries over

Greg Glassman talked about learning and playing new sports, and this is the result of that mindset

Proud of these athletes for putting themselves out there and representing what this kind of training is all about
