My first day back in the gym, after a mandatory 2 weeks off.
2 weeks of:
* an emergency surgery
* Hearing the C word from your surgeon
* Days spent in the hospital
* Days spent in urgent care
* Too sick to get out of bed
* Too tired to get out of bed
* Too scared to know how to move forward
But here I am, moving forward anyway, with every ounce of will, determination, grit, fortitude and sheer stubbornness, to not only show myself, but to show you, and everyone else, that you can’t let ANYTHING get in between you and your goals.
•
And I’m so thankful for these last 2 weeks. I’m thankful they found and removed the cancer early and before it caused a serious problem. I’m thankful that they did more extensive testing and I know for a fact I’m now cancer free. I’m thankful that I made it through all of those moments of surgery, pain, and IV stick after IV stick and infection after infection without even THINKING of needing or wanting anything for the pain and getting through this whole ordeal just as sober and grateful as I was the day before I got sick. I’m thankful to be physically able to workout, though today the workout was slow steady (which isn’t really my style) I got it done and I got it done right. I showed up even though sleeping in and allowing myself to use all of this as an excuse to not go.

S**t happens, it hits the fan for all of us at one time or another. The important thing is that we rise up and get back on our feet and back to working hard towards those goals and dreams.
•
I’m fortunate enough to have learned that when people don’t have goals and dreams they are actively working towards, they become aimless, unmotivated, maybe even depressed. But I know for me, with each goal and each dream I achieve, there is a bigger and better one ready in the wings to take its place so I can continuously move up higher and be a better version of myself with every single day that passes.

Don’t let life pass you by. Make every day, every hour, every minute, intentional. Do things with purpose and work every day towards becoming your best self. You won’t regret it if you don’t give up!
