Tampa Bay Sea Kayakers

Tampa Bay Sea Kayakers We are the hub of kayaking activity for Florida's central Gulf Coast. Visit https://www.tbsk.club/

Our kayaking club and it's members are located in the Tampa Bay area of Florida, USA. Our primary goal is to help people enjoy the sport of kayaking in a fun and safe manner. While "sea" is in our name and we do love exploring our Gulf waters, we paddle on many rivers in the region too. Members enjoy over 50 organized paddle trips each year, free kayak skills training, monthly paddle picnics, a mo

nthly newsletter, and monthly meetings featuring information on kayaking and related topics by speakers from across the area...and a great social network of sea kayakers!

Inaugural TBSK get together in Bryson City, NC. Some of us had a whitewater experience on the Nantahala River, and we all did several days of kayaking on Fontana Lake. This is a wonderful place to rent a cabin. Close to many places to paddle, hiking trails, and Nantahala Outdoor Center.

18 TBSK'ers paddled the Weeki Wachee last Friday and lived to tell the story! Thank you to everyone who joined us to seek relief from the heat in cool spring waters and to Batb Uzenoff for sharing her photos from the day.

Six TBSK’ers participated in a Kings Bay SpringsWatch monitoring session today. Paddling to six springs around the bay, they collected data on water temperature and clarity, dissolved oxygen, specific conductance, how light travels through the water column, wildlife, and submerged vegetation. A few of us cooled down with snorkels in Three Sisters and Hunter Springs. Such a fun group—thanks to everyone who lent a hand today!

A dozen TBSK’ers embraced The Wet this morning and practiced bow recoveries, balance braces, and sculling on their journey towards rolling their kayaks. Progress was made! Thanks to everyone for coming out today and giving it your all. We’ll keep on practicing.
