The Virginia Maiden

Introduced in 2021, the NSBA Marrita Bust Trophy was created to represent the highest level of achievement within NSBA competition.

Designed by master of equine bronzes, Marrita Black, the trophy is awarded to champion in NSBA-approved classes offering $50,000 or more in added money—marking a true pinnacle moment in the show pen. It reflects not only the scale of the class, but the caliber of horse, exhibitor and program required to rise to the top.

Today, the NSBA Marrita Bust Trophy is reserved for some of the industry’s most prestigious stages, including The Virginia Maiden, The Madness, A Sudden Impulse, The Championship Show and the All American Quarter Horse Congress.

It’s more than a trophy—it’s a statement and a symbol of 𝒆𝒙𝒄𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 earned when the stakes are highest.
