Wishing Bill and Pam Boone Farwell! Off to their next adventure in Nebraska!
Poem by another Reject... Dick Christianson
A Tribute to our Friend .... Bill Boone
For 15 years in Sedona’s sun
Golf with Bill was always fun
First on the range before tee time
Trying to tame that “round about” swing... one bucket at a time
A pull, a slice, a chunk shot
Consistency? Bill had it ... maybe not
But never fear, he’d proudly declare
“I looked up” for all to hear
Now Bill is leaving Sedona’s blue skies
For Nebraska weather ... an interesting choice
Trading sunshine, red rocks and mountain views
For humidity, cornfields and meteorological abuse
We wish you well as you head North
May your birdies occasionally outweigh your excuses
Though your leaving us for Great Plains unknowns
Remember ... Oak Creek will always be your golfing home
Best of luck dear friend...
May your mulligans and excuses never end
Wherever you land, wherever you play
May your drives stay straight... at least once a day
We’re genuinely sad that your heading away
Mostly because who'll be first on the range every day?
So to express our despair I painted this scene
Because it captures our sadness, our grief and sorrow
And when the ball sails right into the rough
And Nebraska golf gets a little tough...
Just do what worked all these years in Sedona
Smile ... laugh ... and exclaim “I looked up”!
