Went up to Milford with my fly rod and waders. Was trying for Shad. John Holyoke met me and while the fishing was great the catching wasn’t 😂😂. But hanging out on the banks of the Penobscot on a beautiful sunny day with an old buddy. Perfect!

Thought this was my last trip of the season a few days ago but just booked one more Penobscot trip for this Friday.
This young lady is the daughter of best selling author CJ Box. I took him on the Penobscot a few years back. That winter he had me murdered in one of his novels. Still one of the coolest things ever!! Molly and her husband had a great day and this big fat hog made the morning!! I gave her much ammo to pick on her dad with before they were done😁.

Had a great time getting this morning’s trip done. Nasty weather coming in. Just a great guy. We really hit it off. Shared stories all morning. So much fun. Towards the end of our trip I refused to quit. I kept him way later then usual. Such a great guy. Just him and me. I fished with him. Don’t get to that often. The smallies were not interested in flies today but they always eat my special baits!! Only a couple days a year I have such fun. Hate that my trips are slowing down. Been a blast this year. Bunch of great folks!!

Had a great morning with a terrific guy from Delaware this am. We fly fished all morning. I have no fish pics. We caught some nice ones but I was enjoying being able to guide one person instead of three or four so much I only took one pic towards the end. Of course in the pic, as a fly fisherman he was changing flies right to the bitter end!! Lol! He insisted that I fish with him. OMG!! Really!?!! Yup I had a great morning!!!
