Summer is quickly approaching.
So many women are searching for quick fitness fixes.
Somethings I want to say to hopefully help you stay away from dangerous trainers, injuries, and hormonal disruptions. All of which can have long term damaging effects. Making life harder down the road.
🚩 “you need to eat less”
While yes a calorie deficit is the only way to loose weight. A few key factors need to happen.
1) find your general daily calorie.
2) asses where you’re at, what you’re goals are, and the best most effective way to get there.
This is done over a few weeks to be honest.
It takes time to really nail these numbers down.
A seasoned/educated coach should be able to help you navigate maintenance, surplus and deficits.
đźš© training till you vomit/Training during times you should be resting.
Training till you vomit can have some serious repercussions and is a sign from your body to stop. Training through times you should be resting. This is allowing you for a further set back. Never, never train through an injury.
A good coach knows when to step it up in programming, slow it down allowing for appropriate rest, and the ability to guide you through any adversities that may arise. A good coach will also step up and tell you when it’s time to go home and see a dr.
🚩 “I can make you a meal plan.”
Unless their Credentials include being a registered dietitian they are absolutely not allowed to make meal plans.
What a nutritionist can do is help navigate ideas for meals, calculate macros, calories consumed.
Explain how some nutrition works, help create and educate for nutritional swaps.
A dietitian can do all that plus more. They can help treat medical conditions they have the educational background that legally allows this to happen.
đźš© using your insecurities against you.
Yes, coaches do this. Yes, there are coaches out there that will find out what your insecurities are and they will make fun of you. They will make comments on your body, how you’re lazy and not driven enough. This is wrong. This is not at all how any coach should act. This type of behavior can have a lasting negative impact on the clients mental and emotional health.
Please do not stick around. This will only cause emotional and mental hardships. No coach worth seeing would ever do this.
I know feeling good in shorts and swimwear is a big deal. I know that’s a big priority to so many.
Just remember you can absolutely go to
Google and type “personal trainer search”
A NASM tab that can let you google search a persons credentials can save you a ton of heartache, and or an injury.
I know I may not be the most affordable coach out there. But my education and skill set will keep you healthy, fit and give you longevity for training.
I’ve spent a solid portion of my career helping other women overcome their past traumas from really crappy coaches who caused more harm then good, I’ve spent months with ladies who needed to relearn how to lift correctly to reach their goals. All because some coach made the choice to not pay attention.
Please be wary when picking someone off Facebook.
Because no matter what their page says they can always delete negative reviews or comments.
If you want a personal trainer, don’t just follow blindly.
You can absolutely ask to meet them first.
Ask them if they offer a free assessment.
(Some will. I know I did)
Ask them as many questions as you feel comfortable asking.
If at any point you feel uneasy, or you feel like they aren’t the coach for you.
Leave. If they are emotionally or mentally abusing you, request a refund and leave. If they refuse a refund it’s your choice on how to handle that. (To be honest I don’t even know. If their at a gym take it to Management, if it’s a private coach I don’t know. Honestly)
A coach client relationship is something that can quickly turn into a solid long term relationship if done right.
