This week we're going full-on fall...

Three different dimensional pumpkins, each with its own details. I already have ideas for how I want to put my own RIO spin on these!

A little creativity around the table. ❤️🎨

I'm finally getting around to sharing some photos from one of our recent private groups at the studio!

One of my favorite things about private events is that they don't all have to look the same. Everyone can put their own spin on their project, choose their colors, change things up a little — and somehow everything looks so good sitting together at the end. 😍

And really, the projects are only part of it.

It's an excuse to get your people together, catch up, laugh, create something and spend a couple hours doing something a little different.

Well, this one has taken a funny little turn. 😂

Our Fall Sports Door Hanger Workshop is tomorrow night and, as of right now, I don't have anyone coming to sit around the table with me.

BUT...

I've made more than half a dozen DIY kits and finished signs for people who loved the projects but said, “Yeah...there's no way we can make a workshop during fall sports.” 😂🏈🏐📣

Fair point.

So apparently you guys have taught me something with this one: **sometimes the project is right even when the workshop time isn't.**

And that's okay!

If tomorrow evening suddenly works for you, I'll be at the studio and you're welcome to come create. But if practices, games and life are in the way, I'm happy to make yours into a DIY kit — or make the finished sign for you.

And YES, I'm still working on that interchangeable-sports version you guys asked for. 👀

A little behind the scenes of making this “Wipe Your Paws” door hanger that Rose Island Originals donated to the Ron Forester Memorial Dog Walk Silent Auction on Friday. 🐾❤️

One of my favorite things about having this little business is being able to use what I make to support the people, organizations and events happening right here in our community.

I hope this one found a happy new home — preferably one with a few muddy paws running around. 😂🐶

Okay, THIS is the fall afternoon I’ve been wanting to put together. 🍂❤️

Our Decorate Your Porch Crafternoon is coming to Rose Island Originals on Sunday, September 20 — and we’re not making just one project.

You’re decorating the whole porch. 🙌

You’ll create:

🍂 an 18” door hanger
🍂 a 4’ porch leaner
🍂 a hand-painted doormat

You’ll get to choose your designs, make everything your own, and we’ll spend the afternoon painting, creating, eating lunch and hopefully laughing entirely too much. 😂

And when you leave? Your fall porch is DONE.

No buying one thing here and another thing there. No unfinished Pinterest plan sitting in the garage until November. You made it. You take it home. You put it on the porch. ❤️

And because I want to kick this one off with a little extra fun…

This is what Open Create looks like around here. ❤️🎨

No everyone-making-the-same-thing. No need to wait for a workshop that happens to have the project you want.

Come in. Wander around. Find something that catches your eye. Grab a seat. And make it yours.

Today the freshly restocked ceramics were a BIG hit, along with pressed flower + resin projects. 🌸

And honestly? This is exactly what I want Rose Island Originals to be — a place you can come spend a couple hours creating, trying something new and just enjoying being here.

Well, apparently ceramics and pressed flowers were the assignment today. 😂🎨🌸

We had such a fun Friday afternoon at Open Create!

The ceramics were just rotated and restocked yesterday, and they definitely got some attention today. 🖌️ We also had several pressed flower + resin projects happening around the studio — and I LOVE seeing how completely different everyone’s projects turn out.

That’s one of my favorite things about Open Create.

There isn’t one project everyone has to make. You come in, look around, find something that catches your eye, grab a seat and create. ❤️

Sometimes you need a workshop on the calendar.

And sometimes you just need an open afternoon, a table full of supplies and permission to make something pretty. 🥰
