History of The Sebastian Tennis Club

The club was started in 1981 by a group of four players including Jake

Adams and Tom Bounds. Over the remainder of the 1980’s the group grew steadily and

by the 1990’s there were about 30 members playing on the original two courts. The group was disappointed many times and worked with three city managers

before promises became reality. In Janu

ary, 1995, the city received a grant from the

state. In February, 1996 the club went to the council meeting to see why the project

had not been put out to bid. After a few more delays, construction finally began in

new pavilions which were constructed by the city.

Merry Christmas,

What a great turn out for our Christmas Party Saturday night. The food was good, the music was great and the friendships unmeasurable. For those that were not able to attend, I only hope you can make it next year.. well worth it.

I personally would like to thank all the elves that helped to make the evening such a success.
