Not a bad half day trip, although "rough" ocean doesn't begin to describe the conditions. Our clients hooked up to a few monsters that broke them off on the rocks numerous times. It's possible the dirty inshore water has pushed some goliaths further out.

These guys have some great stories to tell, and some tasty fish for the dinner plate !

Kevin and his son finally got their red snapper after a few weather cancellations, and the boxed a few beast ARS, triggers, lanes and lost count on the gags.

It was a short snook and redfish kind of morning. Hoping the inshore water cleans up sooner than later !

This post is for the absolute idiotic morons that have NOTHING better to do then complain and whine like infant babies about the timing or duration of the Red Snapper 2026 season.

After the July lawsuit took place and cancelled our ARS EFP season, everything related to the state EFP and federal ARS recreational harvest went into the court system. That means EVERYTHING went into slow mode ! The US legal system makes a snail look fast. Fast forward 2 months, yep, just 2 months. Not 2 years (which would be far more normal for this type of legal proceeding)

The state has, on the behalf of all recreational anglers, fought, filed, attended meeting after meeting, and spent countless hours to get us a 2026 ARS season. It may not be 30+ days, and it may not be during the peak offshore season. The fact that this happened only a few months after a lawsuit was filed, is nothing short of amazing !

So stop complaining. Stop crying like spoiled brats. Be grateful that we had others fighting on our behalf. This IS A WIN for all recreational anglers. If you disagree, then PLEASE do NOT fish for ARS. Stay home and cry to your spouse about how life just isn't fair. Or... grow up and act like you have some common sense.

The east winds and outgoing tide made for a tough bite this morning, but Christine and her boys still found some hard pulling fish. Nice upper slot and a dozen mangroves makes a great dinner !

Telling others where your secret fishing spot is located is something you just don't do. And I kind of feel the same about letting other guides know how I manage to stay busy when so many aren't. But, I wasn't raised that way. I was taught to help others, so I decided to divulge one of my secrets.

For years we have used a web site / booking platform, and while we received bookings, the numbers weren't there. The Google presence wasn't there. The lack of customer service wasn't there. A few months ago, I stumbled across a site called Charter Pro. The guy behind this company is an angler, web designer and is very knowledgeable at marketing. His customer service and dedication to my charter business is off the charts. If I dial Casey's number, he answers. He is steady pushing to get more exposure for his clients.

Sometimes those last minute bookings are the best trips. We put some nice reef fish in the boat, then turned to the snook once the tide shifted. We landed our slot, while watching 60+ snook hang out under the boat.
