If you or someone you know is interested in Sled Roller Derby (greater Seattle area/ in Renton) they should check out Seattle Sled Hockey - the sleds are the same. If you join sled hockey we can work to get you a sled because it's an established adaptive sport.

Then I can help you get wheels. Since hockey season is almost here the sleds have to go back to hockey. I am going to keep working all winter to perfect the wheels and get athletes joined so in the spring we are ready for the first teams to start.

Sled Hockey Experience with Paralympian Josh Sweeney and the Sno-King Thunderbird Sled Hockey team is coming up on August 26th for a fun time on the ice. Beginners welcome....all abilities. Sled players you should be planning on attending in uniform to meet and greet new folks and be on the ice.

Ice Time 5:45 - 7:15pm
arrive 30 minutes early for getting on gear.

My heart and soul are growing leaps and bounds this year. I'm discovering a love and passion I didn't know existed. The world is a beautiful place when you know where to look.

We couldn't agree more....it was a great day of connection. Over 100+ people exploring fitness and recreation, connecting with friends and resources in the community, and making new friends. AND the sun was out.
Thank you to Seattle Parks and Recreation:Specialized Programs, Rainier Beach CC, Top End / Invacare, ABC Medical, and Microsoft User Group for helping us sponsor this free day of play. HUGE Thanks to Image the World Photography for capturing some good times.
We appreciate the support of our Seattle Adaptive Sports coaches and players (basketball, tennis, hockey, field/throwing, soccer) for coming to help others experience their sport, as well, Seattle Space Needle Volleyball, Seattle Slam, Green Lake Table Tennis, Seize the Oar, and Seattle Adaptive Roller Derby.

This was a fun day. We have a bunch of photos of people in the sleds in this bunch of photos. Getting closer to a real team every day!! Learning patience as these things take time. But we are gaining traction. 🖤
