We are very proud of our students who competed over the weekend. We saw many students that dug in and came back to win their matches. A lot of the growth can happen in the loss too - what do you need to work on to get better? Big thank you to the students (and parents!) for bringing their patience and best attitude. It was exciting to see our students in the Championship elimination rounds šŸ¤© Want another bite at the apple? Next tournament is November 14th in Portland.

Congratulations to our most recent class of Black Belts. This group has been working hard all summer! One of the candidates in their essay wrote ā€œThe final way Taekwondo benefited me was by making me a better personā€. This is the ultimate achievement - itā€™s not only about becoming Grand Champion or breaking the most boards. Great Grandmaster Kim referred to it as ā€œBecoming the Whole Personā€ pursuing perfect character along with physical fitness.

ā€œCompetitions allow contestants to compare their skill to that of others and boost their confidence and drive for progress...it is necessary to distinguish the winner, respect him/her for achievement and, in turn, the other competitor learns to be humble and is motivated to work harder.ā€ ~Great Grandmaster Kim
