To make people’s lives more enjoyable. . . What does it mean to enjoy life? To me it’s a great movie with my wife. An hour spent rolling on the floor with my son. To my mom it’s visiting a winery and sewing me a ridiculous pair of pajama pants for Christmas . . . Each and every person enjoys life in a different way, whether its hours spent playing video games or a softball league on Sunday. After
13 years in the fitness industry I have come to realize that it’s not the enjoyable parts of life that wear us down, it’s the aftermath of enjoying life. The hip or lower back pain from sitting too long at the computer. That right knee that just doesn't feel right after a pickup game. Buying the next pant size up, because restaurant week turned into happy hour month. The most exciting part of fitness is that these consequences don’t have to happen! With a small investment of time every week you can minimize the problems that arise from indulging. Hold back the hands of time and enjoy all the games, adventures and missteps without the days of soreness and regrets. Don’t mistake my meaning there are no shortcuts or ways to erase years of neglect in mere moments. It is time to come back to health and vitality. Embrace the sheer joy of those things you did naturally as a child: movement, games, challenges and pushing yourself without even knowing it. Find fitness and make it a part of your life and enjoy life all the more. It may seem that my telling you to enjoy life goes against every fiber of fitness advice you’ve ever heard. The truth of the matter is that we need to find some way to make fitness a more substantial part of your life and stay that way. If not, whatever changes people make and whatever results they see will be fleeting and transitory. It is ultimately my goal to bring an enjoyment of fitness back to the masses. To make working out, less work and more about what it can do for us. Come with me down the rabbit hole of fitness, we’re both late for a very important date. That date is the one where we meet that version of you that is pain free, at your goal or just plain enjoying life. Come with me and ENJOY FITNESS.
