It’s odd that I can sum up most people’s fat loss/muscle gain goals in a few sentences

I charge for motivation and accountability not necessarily advice.

Don’t drink your calories
Eat when hungry, select toward the highest quality (nutrient density) available and enjoy it
Drink mostly water
Get loads of fiber and a balance of macros that fits your goals

Sprint (do fast stuff)
Lift heavy s**t

Try to sleep enough for your body to recover adequately

Be social

That’s it

Beyond that I may need to invoice, however, that should nail down the action plan for most

Enjoy!

Bukowski said to find what you love and let it kill you.

I’m more a find stuff you enjoy and do it as often as practical, hopefully with other people who also enjoy said thing, unless it’s being alone, then rock that ascetic vibe.

Mostly
Do you and don’t let others set your goals for you.

Also
Learn to cook, fight and fix people and things, it’s more fun

What’s your preferred am use your body in ways that make it more useful time?

03/16/2024

As a person who plays martial games with humans, and teaches them, and also the fitness stuff that comes along and keeps you mostly happy with your body (stuff happens when you use stuff)

I am going to say that swinging heavy clubs will help, sometimes

Look
You have to hold it
It moves
There’s physics involved

Your hands, wrists, elbows and shoulders have to accommodate that

Going to heavy too soon will not “heal” s**t

It will frankly f**k your up worse

Relax

Repair

Recover

Re-train

Recreate

Repeat

That’s like 6 r’s

That’s gotta be useful right?

To be fayuh

There are really only a couple patterns
(For clubs, sure but mainly arms)
But there is a variety of angles that are accessible at different speeds and degrees on the axis

A thing that has always been a bonus for me re club work is that I can find the stress that I can maintain and sustain and play at those edges that won’t break me.

The other things, like adding or subtracting movement or body parts, or combinations thereof (if you limit yourself to limbs, mate, there’s more stuff to tweak, you’re more efi than a carburetor.

If that doesn’t make sense it’s cool
I’m at the halfway mark and nothing makes sense frankly.
Keep at it though

The weight of the club can be a variable
If you can articulate the context in which a movement takes place
Add load to the reasonable limits
Maybe occasionally exceed the things you will need to do

But like

Try doing the stuff with the clubs that makes the bigger, more stressful stuff easy.

Also
If you can sort out the major patterns at not just the arms and such, the lower body has them too.

They can be combined
Anything you can do with the upper, in some contexts, can be done with the lower
Yep
In context

Get strong
Stay strong
Have fun
Don’t break
Move toward better daily
Don’t f**king quit

It's super weird that people want to swing heavy s**t on sticks but don't want to do basic joint mobility to ensure they won't set themselves up for future joint issues.

Seriously
5 f**king minutes
Just make 3-5 circles clockwise and counterclockwise at each joint in as bug a range as you have pain-free access to.

If it hurts
Stop
Don't go that far or fast

If you can't do that, you likely shouldn't do heavy s**t on sticks, maybe light things.....

Harder is not better
Better is better
And it can happen daily of you're looking for it

Bio/Psycho/Social

One of those buttons can yield improvement every day, just gotta figure out which button to push

Test, assess, move

Also swing heavy s**t on sticks and play
