The University of Washington is committed to a sustainable future through innovated programs, ever increasing waste diversion goals and sustainable building.

The Athletic Department continually looks for ways to increase waste diversion, which reached over 80% diversion rate in Husky Stadium during the 2018 season. Sustainable practices in place on a day to day basis also include recycling and composting in offices, Styrofoam recycling, green cleaning products and community awareness programs. These are some of the reasons that the UW Athletic Departme

nt continues to be a recognized as a leader in sustainable practices in the world of collegiate athletics.
