Congratulations to ultrarunning legend Ann Trason, for another legendary performance.
Her original goal coming into the Across the Years multi-event race was to walk 50k. An impressive feat given Ann has Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), a condition that prevents her from running as she did during her competitive career. Prior to this event, Ann had not competed in a race in six years.
Aided by her purple walker, but powered by her trademark courage, toughness and perseverance, Ann reset her goal and decided to chase another buckle in the 100 mile race!
This one will be a sweet addition to her collection.
Ann Trason is widely considered one of the greatest ultrarunners in history. Her career, which spanned the 1980s through the early 2000s, is defined by her dominance at the 100-mile distance and her ability to compete with the top men in the field.
🏃♀️ She won Western States 14 times.
🏃♀️She set the Leadville Trail 100 Course Record in 1994 in 18:06:24. This legendary record stood for 31 years until it was finally broken by Ann Flowers in August 2025.
🏃♀️She set 20 World Records across a wide range of distances and fixed time events.
🏃♀️She qualified for the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials three times, with a personal best marathon time of 2:39.
We are beyond inspired. Ann was one of the first to push the physical boundaries. And she continues to do so, further cementing her legacy!!
