Reminder: Book Drive This Week!
As a part of our efforts to show up in support of our wider Washington community, we invite you to participate in a book drive for The Transgender Health and Wellness Center of Washington, also known as Trans-WA, with us!
Trans-WA runs a lending library, and right now their goal is to grow their collection of books by transgender and gender-expansive authors.
You can participate by donating books from their wishlist, available at https://transwa.org/library/book-drive/!
Here’s what Trans-WA says about this book drive:
“Our goal this year is to grow our collection of books by gender expansive authors. In curating our library, we center lived experience. We believe that marginalized people know their stories better than anyone else and that our voices deserve to be heard….Every book on our wishlist is written by a gender expansive author.”
To donate, you can either:
Purchase a book to be shipped to the lending library directly from their wishlist. It’s easy with registries on Charlie’s Q***r Books, Thrift Books, and more!
Bring books to Studio Evolve this week! We’ll be collecting books through the end of the day on Monday 4/13, and then we’ll donate the books we’ve collected to Trans-WA. Just be sure to bring books by transgender and gender-expansive authors - check out their wishlist for ideas!
