The Seattle Yacht Club Sportfishing Committee is excited to sponsor this year’s Family Rendezvous over Father’s Day Weekend!

A longtime favorite of the event is the Kids Fishing Derby at the docks of Port Madison, where young anglers cast their lines in hopes of landing everything from “monster” dogfish to whatever else might be swimming in Portage Bay.

Check the Club Calendar for event details. We look forward to seeing you there!

The 9th Annual Lingcod Derby brought Seattle Yacht Club Members together for a day of fishing and friendly competition. Anglers set out across Marine Area 7 in search of trophy lingcod before gathering at Henry Island to weigh in their catches and celebrate the day’s successes. We saw a lot of big smiles and even bigger fish, this year’s derby was another memorable chapter for the Sportfishing Committee. Thank you to everyone who participated and volunteered – we can’t wait to see what next year brings! Next up – don't forget to register for the Chinook Derby!

The 74th Daffodil Marine Festival's theme was, “Bloom Where the World Takes You,” & our SYC team brought home the spirit award!

SYC entered two boats this year. Eagle Spirit, owned by Steve & Deanna Keller, as the Club Flagship Vessel and decorated with countless daffodils! The crew included the Bridge Officers, the Opening Day Trio and committee members in Club uniform. Summation, owned by PC Pam Lowery, had the Juniors taking the lead on designing our entry, creating costumes, working out the inclusion of daffodils and operating the boat in the parade. The SYC committee and additional volunteers helped with getting 2,000-3,000 daffodils fastened to the Club boats in the Tacoma basin.

Until next year!
