🥊 Seattle Sounders head coach Brian Schmetzer shared the club’s new Designated Player striker Dejan Joveljić will be STARTING against the Chicago Fire at Lumen Field in Seattle. The Seattle Sounders signed striker Dejan Joveljić for $6 million on a blockbuster cash for player trade with Sporting Kansas City. Joveljić has an MLS Cup, more than 50 league goals and a reputation as one of the most reliable No. 9s in MLS.

✍️ Seattle Sounders have unveiled their new Designated Player striker Dejan Joveljić on a $6 million transfer from Sporting Kansas City.

“I’m here to bring goals,” the 27 year old Serbian shared, “I can score with left, right, head, it doesn’t matter.”

In 2025 Joveljić scored 18 goals on a terrible Sporting KC team. He accounted for nearly 40 percent of Sporting’s league goals and was named the club’s MVP, Offensive Player of the Year and Golden Boot winner.
