I talk a lot about training with a body whose symptoms are dynamic. But there is a part that has nothing to do with the training plan, and it is the part almost no one builds for: the loneliness of it.

The days you feel invisible in your own body, the flare that hits when everyone else is asleep. The quiet worry that you are too much, or not sick enough, or just plain hard to understand.

So when I found out about the Chronic Illness Hotline, I said yes without hesitation. This hotline is filling a HUGE gap when it comes to support for our community.

It is a free, 24/7, text-based support line for people living with chronic illness, chronic pain, disability, injury, and neurodivergence. It is staffed by trained Compassion Counselors who have lived it themselves, and you are never required to share your name or your diagnosis. You reach out, and someone who truly understands reaches back.

It does not exist yet, BUT it is being built right now by people who know exactly why we need this. And I get to be one of the voices helping bring it into the world! Tbh, a dream come true🫶🏻

This week I just want you to know it is coming. Follow so you do not miss it. Next, I will show you how you can help make it real.

Curious about becoming an ambassador? Head to their page for the easy application!

Because together, we can be the lifeline💚

Getting back to running with a chronic illness is not about pushing harder but building something within your body’s tolerance, or “energy envelope”.

Think pacing and flexibility over rigid miles & increases, symptoms as your guide, strength as a pillar, and rest without guilt.

Save this one for when you’re easing back in, and send to a running friend who needs to hear this🫶🏻

If “just add more strength training” or “you have to be more consistent” has ever made you want to scream, this is for you.

When you’re moving/exercising with a chronic illness, consistency isn’t about willpower, and “more” isn’t always a good thing.

That’s why I built Foundations in 15! Three, 15 minute at home strength workouts made with spoonie runners in mind but appropriate for many of those living with chronic illness who want to start building strength.

Flare-friendly, structured enough that you’re not guessing, but modifiable enough to adjust on lower-energy days. Built by someone who *lives it* and knows that strength & muscle is protective and rest is part of the plan🫶🏻

I made a free checklist that helps you check in with yourself and identify when training modifications are necessary, plus how to implement them for both running and strength training.

Comment “checklist” and I’ll send it over!👇🏻💌

My personal experience embracing bracing as a physical therapist living with hEDS✨❤️‍🩹

With the guidance of your care team, I recommend anyone living with chronic illness to use all the tools that help you, even if it feels embarrassing. I’ve gone out with a cane before. It is quite empowering to not care about what people think!

Btw has anyone bedazzled an Aspen Vista brace or other brace? Pls comment with pics for inspo👀💎

To be honest, I’m super deconditioned right now! Cycling has been very enjoyable as I’m sitting so my POTS symptoms aren’t limiting me🚴🏼‍♀️so this is my main form of cardio conditioning (slow and steady).

Wearing my CMC braces from BraceLab makes holding and weight bearing on the handle bar SO much more comfortable.

Also not to brag but the cycle I went on this morning (not these videos) was in crisp, sunny, 56 deg weather😍
