Meet teacher Alex! Alex grew up splashing around in the rivers, lakes, and waterfalls of Washington and swam as part of their high school swim team. More recently, Alex worked at the King County Aquatic Center for a year and a half as a lifeguard and swim instructor. Alex absolutely loves teaching people how to swim, from toddlers to adults. Their favorite part is watching swimmers gain confidence and realize that they can do so much more than they ever believed they could.

A Seattle local with a lifelong love of the water, Cat has been swimming since childhood. With nearly a decade of experience as a medical assistant, office manager, and personal trainer, she's passionate about helping people learn, grow, and reach their goals.

Cat brings a calm, encouraging approach to every lesson and loves creating a fun, safe environment where swimmers can build strong skills, confidence, and a lifelong love of the water.

Why does Little Fish teach in a full-size pool with a deep end?

Because that's where real-world swimming happens. While many swim lessons take place in shallow teaching pools, our swimmers learn in a full-size pool with a deep end—the same kind of environment they'll encounter at community pools, hotel pools, summer camps, lakes, and beaches.

Learning in a larger pool gives children the opportunity to:

Build confidence in deeper water
Practice swimming longer distances
Learn to orient themselves when they're farther from the wall
Develop underwater skills like diving and retrieving objects from the bottom
Gain experience navigating a pool that looks and feels like the ones they'll use outside of lessons
