Electric backcountry cooking is fundamentally different than gas-stove or campfire cooking. It comes down to simple physics. The 3 factors influencing electric backcountry cooking performance are USB-C technology, portable battery technology, and the physics of boiling water.

Both gas-stove and campfire cooking methods rely on fire and high amounts of power to cook, meaning high temperatures and fast boil times. Meanwhile, electric cooking requires lower temperatures with lower power and longer boil times. Electric however doesn’t necessarily mean that it’ll take longer to make your meal, it just means that the path to making your meal is different
