Youth Programs is in full swing! 🎉

We are so grateful for the families and kiddos who join us every day to participate in P.L.A.Y. (Positive Life Activities for You)!

One of the best parts of what we do is watching our kiddos grow, learn, build friendships, and participate in positive life activities each day. Thank you for being part of our SEPRD community!

🏊‍♀️ Sunset Pool Annual Shutdown: November 2–14

In just three weeks, Sunset Pool will temporarily close for our annual shutdown from November 2 through November 14. We plan to reopen for regular use on Monday, November 16!

During this time, our maintenance team will be working hard to complete important repairs, updates, and preventative maintenance to help keep our pool safe, clean, and welcoming for everyone.

Some of the planned projects include:
🔧 Pool drain cover replacements and boiler maintenance
🧼 Deep cleaning and maintenance of pool decks and locker rooms
🎨 Fresh paint and floor coatings in select areas
🚿 Locker room repairs and shower grout resealing
💡 Learner Pool lighting improvements
🛠️ Additional repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the facility

We appreciate your patience while we take this time to care for our facility and prepare for another great season of swimming!

🌟 Tanner is our October Employee of the Month! 🌟

Tanner is always happy, smiling, and willing to help whenever needed. He is a dependable and positive teammate who consistently goes above and beyond to support his coworkers and our team.

Tanner works hard while keeping up with his academics and maintains a strong presence in our community through his volunteer service with Gearhart Fire. He also continues to learn and grow within the District and is actively working toward becoming involved in different roles throughout SEPRD.

His dedication, positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to serving others make him a fantastic lifeguard, coworker, and employee. We’re grateful to have Tanner on our team!

Last week, we had the opportunity to recognize and celebrate Michael Hinton, one of our Board Members, for his many contributions to Sunset Empire Park & Recreation District and our community at the Oregon Recreation Professionals Association (ORPA) 2026 Conference held here in Seaside.

Mike has been a wonderful advocate for recreation and community services in Seaside and has contributed to many impactful improvements and opportunities at the District. We’re grateful for his dedication, service, and commitment to helping strengthen our community through recreation.

Looking for a fun way to serve your community? Join our awesome volunteer group at the Seaside Senior Meal Program!

Our awesome volunteers help with weekly produce deliveries from the Warrenton Regional Food Bank to the Bob Chisholm Community Center, as well as deliveries from the Community Center to patrons from here in Seaside to patrons in Jewell.

It’s a simple way to lend a helping hand, connect with your community, and make a difference for local seniors!

This weekend, we hosted our Fall Wellness Retreat, led by Kathleen! 🌿

This retreat focused on aromatherapy and provided a wonderful opportunity for some incredible community members to slow down, connect with themselves, and connect with one another.
