The world of weightlifting lost a great coach, mentor and friend. Rest In Peace, Don.

Our hearts are with the friends and family of Don McCauley today. Don was a dedicated coach who touched the lives of many in our sport. We send our heartfelt condolences to Don’s family, friends and the community. Coach Travis Mash had this to share: I’m sad to announce the passing of my mentor Don McCauley . I was told that he passed with no pain. .
We can all stand to learn from his life. Don was unwavering in his convictions about lifting and life. He was either black or white, never gray. I respect that. He always criticized me for trying to find middle ground, and I definitely see his point now. .
I was blessed to spend so many years with such an amazing coach. I thank God for those years. .
I hope all of you will raise a glass in his honor today celebrating the life of a real coach, friend, and mentor. .
