2027 Russell County senior, Ryder Kiesel is now COMMITTED! ⚾️🏴‍☠️

Ryder Kiesel is headed to Chattahoochee Valley Community College!

Ryder has a big, whippy frame and the ability to generate a ton of force coming down the mound. When he gets moving downhill, there’s a lot of life and power behind the baseball.

We’re excited to see what another fall of development brings. We’re looking for low to mid-90s out of Ryder this spring. 💨

Proud of you, Ryder! CVCC is getting a good one.

COMMITTED ⚾️

Congratulations to Senior Grant Johnson on his commitment to continue his baseball career at Chattahoochee Valley Community College! 🏴‍☠️

I couldn’t be more proud of this kid. Grant has grown tremendously over the last few years and especially this summer not just as a player, but as a young man, and he’s put himself in a position to have a huge impact on this year’s team.

He’s going to be a big piece of what we do this season, and I’m excited to watch him continue to grow and compete.

Grant, we’re proud of you and excited to see what’s ahead. Keep working. Keep believing. Keep being you.

Congratulations, Grant! 🍢🏴‍☠️⚾️

Two of our own are representing Russell County Baseball on one of youth baseball’s biggest stages this week at the Southeast Region Tournament in Warner Robins, Georgia.

Congratulations to 7th graders Kawika Givens and Cooper Champion for earning spots on regional teams and having the opportunity to compete against the best players in the Southeast.

Kawika Givens, a member of the Russell County Baseball program, is representing Team Georgia and enters the tournament as one of the Top 15 Players to Watch in the Southeast Region, ranked No. 2 overall after an outstanding state tournament performance. Kawika will get the start on the mound in Game 1 of regional play tomorrow.

Cooper Champion is representing Team Alabama and will also have the opportunity to showcase his talent on this big stage. We are proud of the work, dedication, and commitment both of these young men have shown and are excited to watch them compete.

The future is bright for Russell County Baseball, and we can’t wait to see what’s ahead for Kawika and Cooper. Good luck to both of you, go represent your teams, Alabama, Georgia, and Russell County with pride!

Congratulations to 2026 Russell County graduates Carson Carswell and Christian LaLiberte on continuing their baseball careers at Andrew College in Cuthbert, Georgia!

Christian LaLiberte has decided to flip his commitment from the University of Maine–Fort Kent to Andrew College, giving him the opportunity to play much closer to home.

Carson Carswell, who was previously uncommitted, has officially earned the opportunity to continue his baseball career at the collegiate level.

The Russell County High School baseball program is incredibly proud of both of you. Thank you for representing our school, our community, and our program with class, character, and determination. We know you’ll continue to grow both on and off the field as you begin this next chapter.

Proud to announce that Conner Cox has committed to continue his athletic and academic career at Southern Union State Community College!

Conner has been the heartbeat of our program. Starting shortstop and team captain, he has led by example every single day with toughness, consistency, and an unwavering commitment to doing things the right way. His work ethic, leadership, and competitive spirit have helped set the standard for everyone around him.

On the field, Conner has been a difference maker in every aspect of the game. Whether it’s making a big play defensively, coming through in a key moment offensively, or leading his teammates through adversity on the mound, he’s been someone we could always count on. Off the field, he’s represented Russell County with character, humility, and class.

Southern Union is getting an outstanding baseball player, an exceptional leader, and an even better young man. I couldn’t be more proud of Conner and his family. This opportunity is well earned, and I can’t wait to see all he’ll accomplish in a Bison uniform.

Go Bisons! 🦬⚾️🍢
