Gulf Coast Youth Sailing Association (GCYSA) provides advanced training in the sport of sailing to highly motivated youth sailors striving to be the best.

GCYSA provides advanced, high performance training in the sport of sailing to highly motivated youth sailors who strive to be the best in the sport. GCYSA develops the personal skills and sailing techniques necessary to compete at a national and international level. Along the way we create lifelong sailors, develop life skills and establish strong friendships. Sailors
GCYSA works with highly motivated and committed athletes striving to be the best in the sport of sailing. Our sailors come from other advanced sailing programs where they have achieved a high degree of success and wish to advance their racing skills further to a national or world level. Schedule
GCYSA operates on a year round basis. Full time during the summer session and on weekends during the fall, winter and spring.

More exciting training opportunities this summer with a pre Sears Cup qualifier training camp and a pre Rose Cup match racing training camp added to the calendar. Epic end to the Fall season for the team with Tyler Logan winning the D15 ILCA 6 title last weekend, Madeline Perdue 2nd in the ILCA 4 fleet, and Caroline Horne with a dominant win in race 7.

Special congratulations to Tyler Logan for finishing 7th at the District 13 championships a few weeks ago in a challenging ILCA 6 fleet.

It was also nice to see GCYSA graduate and current Brown University Sailing team member William Baker finish 3rd in his final ILCA 7 event of the year. Also in attendance was GCYSA graduate Asher Zittrer, who sadly wasn’t able to retain his D15 title.

Big weekend for GCYSA and Texas sailors competing in California and Texas this weekend.

Big week coming up for some of our GCYSA graduates as they take on the 2024 US Olympic team trials.

We have 2 graduates in the ILCA 6 and 2 in the ILCA 7.
All sailors coming in on rather hot form with the McCann brothers being the only US sailors to make it into the gold fleet at the 2024 ILCA 7 World Championships in Adelaide, Australia which concluded only 2 weeks ago.
Lillian Myers took out the 2023 ILCA 6 North American Championships in Alamitos bay, California (2028 Olympics venue).
Charlotte Rose just claimed 2nd at the 2024 ILCA 6 World Championships.

I have spoken with all of them in the last week and they are all excited/nervous but ultimately fully prepared and ready to take on these trials.

Charlotte, Lilly, Marshall and Ford we wish you all the best. Fair winds, good sailing and above all else trust the process!!!
