Sydney Small, fresh off her US Junior Women’s Singlehanded title, is up for Sailor of the Month. Lakewood, be sure to cast a vote for Sydney!

SYDNEY SMALL (USA)

Small by name, maybe, but big by her recent results. Well on the way to an ILCA campaign for 2032, Small topped out the US Junior Women’s Singlehanded Championships which were raced in 15-20kt breezes in Corpus Christi, Texas. Interestingly for a junior event like this, no private coaching was permitted, all competitors instead benefiting from shared access to two US Sailing coaches who were provided for both a pre-race clinic as well as the regatta itself

What a beautiful afternoon of blooms, bites, and friendship!

The LYC Ladies Association had a wonderful time at our Floral Design Class with Lush Flowers, creating gorgeous take-home bouquets and sharing plenty of smiles along the way. Thank you to everyone who joined us and to Lush Flowers for helping make the day so colorful, creative, and memorable!

Eleven Seahorses got hands-on with fiberglass and gelcoat repair, learning safety, surface prep, proper materials, application, and cleanup!

Several even left confident enough to tackle minor repairs on their own boats. 🔧⛵️

A huge thank-you to the Anchor Committee and club leadership for making this workshop possible—and to everyone who joined us for a well-earned pool bash afterward!
