Gorilla Invades Shawshank Recap

71 players made it out to Gorilla Invades Shawshank, and it was a day we’ll remember.
From the first throws to the final putts, the vibe was exactly what this sport is about, laughter in the air, a few tears rolling through, and that unmistakable energy that only comes from a great competitors.

In the morning, a few folks had me wanting to fight before the competition got going, but in the end, it was all good. That’s the thing… we came for the game; we left with the memories.

And I want to thank everyone who came out and made the event special.

A huge shout out to Melodie Wilson and the M2M staff for running the raffle. Thanks to your work, we started the year strong with donations of just over $500. That’s a great start, but we’ve got a long way to go.

This event also holds a special place in the story: it was the end of Gorilla at Shawshank, since the course is closing down. But don’t worry, the summer Gorilla Series is just kicking off.

Our next raffle will be at the Nac Open, stay tuned for the information.
I hope everyone enjoyed the extra-large hot dogs and watermelon. And thank you to Steve DuFrane for providing the cook and for providing a facility that has given us so many years to play the sport we love, and a place that made us not only high five but also made us want to throw our bags in the water. We appreciate you.

The Daily Spotlight
