Move Jiu-Jitsu is honored and thankful to welcome one of the true pioneers of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in America — Grand Master Rigan Machado — for a very special seminar at Monmouth Squash and Swim in Sea Bright, New Jersey.
Before Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu became known throughout the world… before the UFC… before academies existed on every corner… there were a few families who carried this knowledge from Brazil to the United States and helped plant the seeds of what the art has become today.
The Machado family, cousins of the Gracie family, were among those pioneers.
Rigan Machado is a 9th Degree Red Belt, an 8-time World Champion, undefeated for 13 years, and one of the original instructors who helped shape the growth of BJJ in America. He trained with Rickson Gracie, Rorion Gracie, Relson Gracie, Carlos Gracie Sr., and many of the legends who built the foundation of this art.
Beyond competition, Rigan has also shared his knowledge throughout Hollywood, training and working with names such as Keanu Reeves, Tom Hardy, Ashton Kutcher, Mel Gibson, Chuck Norris, and many others.
But what makes this truly special is not only the accolades… it is the wisdom, energy, and lineage being passed down through generations.
This is more than a seminar.
