Robert Kennedy, 60, an artist from Lackawanna County submitted his painting titled “Retreat” to the Older Artists of PA Showcase in the Artist Living with Dementia category.

“I am a 60‑year‑old living with dementia, and painting has become one of the most meaningful ways I make sense of my memories and experiences. While some details of daily life can slip away, certain places, emotions, and moments remain vivid. Art allows me to return to them.”

🥍 DID YOU KNOW LACROSSE HAS NATIVE AMERICAN ROOTS? 🪶

There's another exciting addition to Fall Family Fun Day on Sunday, November 1!

As we welcome back the Allegany River Seneca Dancers, families will also have an opportunity to discover a sport with deep roots in Native American history.

Lacrosse has been played for centuries by Indigenous peoples, including the Seneca and other Haudenosaunee nations. Traditionally known as the Creator's Game, lacrosse holds special cultural and spiritual significance.

🥍 As part of National Celebrate Lacrosse Week, TRIBE Youth Lacrosse will offer FREE introductory clinics for first-time players! It's a great opportunity for kids to pick up a stick, learn the basics and give this historic sport a try.

📅 Sunday, November 1 | 1–4 p.m.
🥍 Clinics every half-hour
📍 Nay Aug Avenue Natural Play Area, 1737 Nay Aug Avenue, Scranton (behind Giant Market)
🎟️ FREE admission and participation!

Special thanks to Lackawanna County Parks & Recreation for helping bring this exciting activity to Fall Family Fun Day!

🍂 Come celebrate culture, community and the joy of getting outdoors!
