CAT'S MEOW SCUBA CREW We are a group of Certified SCUBA buddies that are always ready for a good dive and fun times. We have four founding members. Larry (LG) is a NAUI Master Diver.

We officially formed in 2020 when four friends dived together for the first time. The group has dived several lakes in Pennsylvania and is based at Dutch Springs. We are focused on having fun as well as continually practicing our skills. Associate members can join by invitation and after completing initiation. Tony is a NAUI Advanced Diver and NAUI Rescue Diver. He has dived in cold Pennsylvania l

akes as well as the Caribbean and Central America. He is quite experienced and has traveled extensively. He has dived in cold Pennsylvania waters as well as the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea. He has traveled extensively. He is a certified Full Face Mask Diver, Shark Diver and enthusiast. He also enjoys underwater photography and video. Maurice is a NAUI Master Diver. He has dived in the cold waters of Pennsylvania, warm waters of the Caribbean and extensively in Florida. He has experience in the Ocean as well as fresh water springs and caverns. He is also a certified Full Face Mask Diver. Steve (Scuba Steve) obtained his SSI Open Water Certification in 2020. He has done quite a bit of diving thus far including night diving. He is continually working on honing his skills and plans to advance soon. Kenny and Eric were accepted as members in the 2021 season shortly after completing their Open Water training. They completed several days of diving with us, met the requirements and were voted into the group. We look forward to more adventures and further training with them.

Larry introduced Eric and Steve to Shark diving in the Bahamas last week! It was an amazing time! Sharks are not maneaters and should be respected and not feared. Sharks kill on average only 4 humans in the entire world in a whole year. Jaws is not real!

Larry had the opportunity to dive in Georgia Aquarium's Ocean Voyager exhibit this past October. There were 2 Whale Sharks, 7 other species of Sharks, 2 Giant Manta Rays, Sting Rays, 29 species of fish and a very large sea turtle named "Tank". It was an amazing experience!

Larry and Maurice went diving in the Bahamas this summer and there were lots of sharks! They are currently working on becoming Divemasters and have been busy this year with academics, swim tests and dive skills. They plan to complete certification next summer and work as dive professionals! Unfortunately, the Cat's Meow Crew has not been as active this season due to the closure of Dutch Springs. We had a few outings in the Fingerlakes and visibility was variable. However, we are very excited for the launch of Lake Hydra next year!
