Dan Carney A Difficult Out As Adams Pirates Defeat PSSBL Adams Rainiers

Dan Carney collected three hits in three at bats, as Adams Pirates defeated PSSBL Adams Rainiers 14-2 on Wednesday. Carney doubled in the eighth inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the sixth inning.
Adams Pirates got on the board in the first inning after an error scored one run.
#99 doubled, which helped PSSBL Adams Rainiers tie the game at one in the bottom of the second.
Adams Pirates made the score 5-1 in the top of the fourth after Derrick Hwang tripled, scoring two runs, Josh Schiefer tripled, scoring one run, and an error scored one run.
Adams Pirates scored six runs on three hits in the top of the fifth inning. Ryan Tipper singled, scoring two runs, Josh Evans doubled, scoring three runs, and Jade Braff grounded out, scoring one run.
Mike Varnier earned the win for Adams Pirates. They allowed six hits and one run (zero earned) over five innings, striking out seven and walking one. Tamarek Wrinkle took the loss for PSSBL Adams Rainiers. They went four innings, surrendering 10 runs (eight earned) on six hits, striking out eight and walking six. Jonathan Radosevich tossed two innings of zero-run ball for Adams Pirates in relief. They surrendered two hits, striking out two and walking two.
Adams Pirates accumulated 16 hits in the game. Evans, the number eight hitter for Adams Pirates, led the way with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-5 on the day. Schiefer and Carney each collected three hits for Adams Pirates. Anthony Hill and Tipper each collected multiple hits for Adams Pirates. Adams Pirates had patience at the plate, tallying eight walks for the game. Spencer Smith, Carney, and Travis Cuykendall led the team with two walks each. Tipper stole two bases. Adams Pirates stole five bases in the game.
PSSBL Adams Rainiers amassed 10 hits in the game. Darryl Worcester, Wrinkle, and Colin Nash each collected two hits for PSSBL Adams Rainiers. Worcester and #99 were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for PSSBL Adams Rainiers. PSSBL Adams Rainiers turned two double plays in the game.
