๐บ๐ธ September 11, 2001 โ 25 Years Later ๐บ๐ธ
Twenty-five years ago today, I was sitting in front of my television watching the events of September 11th unfold live. I remember how surreal it felt. At first, it was almost impossible to understand what I was seeing or to comprehend that I was witnessing something that would change our country and the world forever.
I still remember the feeling of that day. The shock, the sadness, the uncertaintyโand then watching Americans come together. For a moment, the things that normally divided usโpolitics, religion, race, and our different beliefsโjust didnโt seem to matter. We were Americans, and we stood together.
In many ways, it reminded me of the unity our country experienced after Pearl Harbor. But the impact of September 11th reached far beyond America. The entire world watched, grieved, and was changed by what happened, even though the deepest pain was felt here at home.
Today, I remember the innocent lives lost at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in Pennsylvania. I remember the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, military personnel, and all the first responders who put others before themselves. And I remember the families who woke up that morning never knowing their lives would be changed forever.
Twenty-five years have passed, but I donโt think a day like that is ever truly forgotten.
I hope we never forget the people we lost, the courage we witnessed, and the sense of unity we found in the aftermath.
