Sunday's Oakland Splash and Dash concluded this year's Youth State Series. It saw finish 2nd in the club division and excellent results from all the kids many of who raced at multiple races all year. Thanks to the parents for all the driving around! The kids were great fun at the clinics that run all year round. Some highlights from the series individual results:
🥈7yo girls - Penelope Chu
🥇8yo girls - Mackinnon Inglis
🥇9yo girls - Mackenzie Chu
🥈11yo boys - Jonah Schmidt
🥇11yo girls - Marian Pineda
🥇12yo boys - Kynan Henze
🥈13yo girls - Mireya Chakravarty

The results of the series showed clearly that kids in a youth club generally outperformed the others and I'm guessing had more fun doing it.

Our 2026 Ironman Pro-Am Series is drawing to a conclusion. Lots of movement after Ironman California. 's club record lifted him into 3rd spot with .draper6 slotting into 4th pushing our 70.3 worlds participants and down to 5th and 6th. with his 4th race and 2nd Ironman for the year has gapped the field and is safely in pole position. Unless someone does some unexpected international travel in the next two months the only possible challenge to the Top 3 will come when 20yo Ironman veteran does her 3rd career Ironman in Cozumel in November where she can earn a maximum of 5000 points. 😱. How can they still all be friends? 😄

Series Prizes:
🥇$250 cash, $250 TCM store credit
🥈$175 cash, $175 TCM store credit
🥉$75 cash, $75 TCM store credit

Our mixed relay team (4 x a super sprint triathlon) will take on nine college teams at tomorrow's Bearathlon. Unfortunately, not one other post-collegiate team was brave enough assemble a team to take us on. Oh well, we'll play with the kids while we wait for our competition to show up.

Seven of our members headed out to Ironman California on Sunday. Club records were smashed. All were crowned an Ironman. They had the support of their team mates and they know each other because they're not one of thousands. This is a race experience too good not to share and the training is too hard and boring to prepare alone. We'll have an even bigger crew out there in 2027.

The squad is on top of the Bay Area Multisport Initiative Club Competition (.multisport) with one race to go. We collected points at the Morgan Hill Triathlon, the Cupertino Splash and Dashes and kids triathlons around the Bay Area. By including kids events, clubs with junior development programs are rewarded, encouraging teams like ours focused on the future of the sport. The last race of the series is the for kids 6-15 on October 25.
