Pitching coaches. I’m pleading with you. Stop teaching the kids to be outside the lane. This is really easy to spot as a plate umpire. Not all will call it. But the one who does is not the bad guy. The lines don’t have to be there and yes it’s still illegal even if they aren’t.

Coaches: stop putting pitchers in without a warm-up.

This is not a “older kids only” thing. 10U through college should be doing this.
Stretching and getting blood moving is the easy part. That is the floor, not the work.
A pitcher also has to go through her pitch prep. That is how she finds her feel, her timing, and her spots before the first batter is in the box. She is not just loosening her arm. She is prepping her mind to make adjustments on the mound during the game.
You cannot ask a kid — any age — to locate, change speeds, or fix a miss in the first inning if she never established the mind-body connection in the circle first. Cold arm + cold mind = you are guessing. A real warm-up means she already knows what her fastball is doing today, what her change needs, and how her body is responding.
Put them in ready. Not hopeful.

She gets drills for the week that is uploaded with video instruction on how to do the drill. She can film her doing the drills, and send them to me. I watch. I cue. If it doesn’t look right, we adjust in real time — or I put something else in its place 🎥

Every pitcher (& their parents) also get their own private space. That’s where her progress lives. Velocity. Spin. What we attacked. What clicked. The drills that actually work for her — filed so she can keep them sharp all season. 🔐

Circle is not a replacement for lessons. But if you happen to miss even a week or two, it keeps us connected. We can stay engaged, evaluate videos, track progress, and adjust your at-home training so you always know what to focus on next. It’s not replacing your lessons—it’s the roadmap between them. 🗺️🥎
