Attached are the Rules & Regulations from the 2025 WAFFL Regular Season.
This year's Snow Bowl will use the rules established from the 2025 Season. However, there are a few differences that will be specific to only the Snow Bowl. I will list these differences below:
Players under the age of 18 are allowed to participate, only if they have a parent who are participating on the same team, and in the same game as their child. This opportunity is only available due to the Winning team only receives their Tournament admission fee paid in full, and it is not to be considered a profitable event for players. This in essence maintains, a child's amateur status. Child and Parent are required to sign a waiver and liability form prior to the start of each and every game. Every player plays at their own risk regardless of age and will also be required to sign a waiver.
Teams are required to use their own football. This is different from the Regular Season, as all teams were then required to only use the footballs that were supplied by the League. The football should be a regulation adult sized football, and each football should be inflated at an acceptable level. Each football will be checked prior to the start of each game.
Due to the rule of team specific footballs, after every change of possession, (Interception, Turnover On Downs, Touchdowns, & Point(s) After Touchdowns), both referees are required to be set at the line of scrimmage, and the proper rush line position prior to the 1st Snap of that drive. Time clocks will be stopped at these change of possessions under two minutes of each half to allow all teams a fair opportunity to set up and complete a play.
The coin toss rules are different for the Round Robin Tournament. Each matchup will have a pre-determined coin flip choice based on their team listed number. The lower team number will automatically be designated the coin flip of "tails", while the higher team number will automatically be designated the coin flip of "heads". The winning and losing team of the coin flip will then follow the decision process according to the rulebook. This is a result of each team having an uneven amount of Round Robin games (7 games) which would make designating home and away matchups more difficult and less of an opportunity for coin flip choice than other teams. This simplifies the process for all teams. For further explanation, an example would be Team 1 vs. Team 4. Team 1 is tails, team 4 is heads. Another example, Team 7 vs. Team 8. Team 7 is tails, team 8 is heads. Standard coin toss rules will be in effect only for the Single Elimination Tournament, as the lower seed will be determined the Away team, and then will be given the choice between Heads or Tails at the coin flip.
Game times have also been changed to allow a greater amount of overall games to be played with the focus on each team playing every team at least once, while also assisting in keeping players less fatigued. The Round Robin Tournament will consist of each half set at 12 minutes, instead of the original 20 minutes. Games will revert to each half being 20 minutes at the beginning of the Single Elimination Tournament. This results in each game in the Round Robin Tournament being 24 minutes total, and then 40 minutes total for each Single Elimination Tournament game. Every game will still consist of a 5 minute half time.
The Drinking Championship will be a total accumulation of Friday, Saturday, & Sunday. The same points from the Regular Season will still apply, which are:
1 Beer =1 Tally
1 Mixer =1 Tally
1 Shot =1 Tally
1 Pitcher = 5 Tallies
The Drinking Championship will begin on Friday at 6:00 PM, and then conclude on Sunday at 3:00 PM. The team with the most tallies at the end of the Drinking Tournament will be crowned the Drinking Champion and receive the Drinking Championship Trophy and a 1/4 Barrel of Beer. In the event of a tie, a tiebreaker will take place. The tiebreaker will consist of a pitcher relay race between team members from each team. Winner of the relay race will be determined the Overall Drinking Champion.
Playoff Seeding Tiebreakers a will follow the below process:
1. Head-to-Head
2. Total Point Differential
3. Highest Scheduled Victory
4. Coin Toss - Youngest Captain Choice
