North Zone Masters T20 Regionals wrap up : 🎉 What an incredible week it has been! We've just witnessed history in the making with our first-ever high-energy T20 Masters Regionals tournament, held on June 19th and 20th at NY Ovals, Schenectady, NY! 🏟️ 8 teams and almost 150 players from our region came together to make this tournament a massive success, and we're thrilled to announce that 4 top teams from North Zone have qualified for the T20 Nationals, scheduled for Aug 22/23/24th at Houston! 🎉 We're beaming with pride as the first region to organize the first F45 and T20 Regionals in Masters cricket, paving the way for our teams to shine at Nationals! 💫 Here's a beautiful summary of our journey, penned by Ravi Suri. 📝

Four years back MCUSA started off as a Rose Plant to give some color, vibrancy, vitality and vigor to cricketers who were 50 and above and were heading towards a sedentary life. Today MCUSA is a Garden full of features including statuary, follies, pergolas, trellises, stumperies, dry creek beds etc. This garden caters to not just the 50’s but the 40’s 60’s and now the 70’s.
To ensure a wider audience enjoys and reaps from the garden last year MCUSA introduced the regional tournaments where players in various age groups participate in a regional tournament conduced not by the MCUSA central body but by sub committees of each region. Last week the North Zone region comprising of MA, CT, RI, ME, NH, VT , NY, NJ, PA, DE, MD, DC, WV and VA conducted a O40 North Zone Regional Tournament in Albany NY. The games were streamed live and were well received by a wide audience across the vast country of United States.
United Masters were the Champions, DC Capitals were the runner up, North Grizzlies placed third and Northern X factor were placed fourth in the tournament. The remaining four participants were NECC, Challengers, Pittsburg Pioneers and North Eagles.
Adil Batti of DC Capitals was the MVP of the tournament for his all-round displays with bat and ball in most games. He scored a record-breaking double hundred of just 66 balls. Adil Bhatti of DC Capitals was the best batsman of the tournament. Arjun Vasantham of NECC was the best bowler of the tournament. The best fielder of the tournament was Ameeq Khan of DC Capitals and the best wicket keeper of the tournament was Adnan Taj of Norther X Factor.
The North Zone Regional Tournament was extremely well conducted by the regional administrative body. The weather was near perfect; the wickets were great with high scores in almost all games. The administrators of North Zone Region deserve a shout out for their fabulous and selfless services.
