Salt Pump Kids is designed to provide children the space to learn and grow in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Every program is personalized to meet each climber at their own level while gently nudging them toward their true potential.

Our campers took a quick break from climbing to head outside. They’ve been catching little frogs left and right but this is by the far biggest frog we’ve seen so far!

SP Kids! July session of summer camp just started this week. Our campers are having a blast with Coach Alison!

They’ve been climbing the walls upstairs, downstairs, and even the hill outside. You might not be able to see it but there’s definitely a huge smile under the mask of this Salt Pump Kid!

Dear SP Kids! Families,

We’re hoping everyone is staying safe and healthy in these unsettling times. We miss each and every one of you dearly. Given the uncertainty associated with the current COVID-19 outbreak, we want to keep our families updated about our evolving plan for this summer.

We have been keeping up to date with federal and state CDC guidelines for opening our facility as well as our day camp programs. We’ve been in constant contact with camp directors of other day camps in our area about their planning and preparations. We would also like your feedback through the survey linked below to better understand how your family is feeling regarding camps this summer.

At this time our staff are working diligently on a plan for what this summer will look like if we’re able to run our summer camps. But we also know the situation is constantly evolving. We look forward to a time in which we can come together again to laugh, learn, and challenge ourselves on all the new routes in the gym.

Friends,

It breaks our hearts to say this, but Salt Pump will be closing effective immediately until further notice. All programs and scheduled events will also be cancelled until we reopen.

We make this decision based on additional guidance from government officials and what we perceive to be a critical mass of local public facility closures. We hope this closure is short but we do not have a definitive date as to when we will open again. We sincerely thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

We have received many thoughtful emails, calls, and other communications from you. Thank you. We will take tonight and tomorrow to assess the implications of this closure. We will do our best to respond to each individual inquiry and question we have received over the next several days. In the meantime, the following are answers to several “frequently asked questions” we have received in the last few days:

Question 1: What will happen to membership dues?
We will credit any dues, whether pre-paid or EFTs, we have received when we reopen. If we are not open on April 1, for those members who utilize our EFT system, there will be no charge.

Question 2: What about my two week trial membership after my intro-to-climbing class?
Your two week trial will start once we re-open.

Question 3: What about youth programs?
There will be no youth programming while the facility remains closed. We will credit all amounts we have received.

Thank you for your support. The beauty of a climbing gym is the community it creates. We want to do what we can to ensure it endures.
