FREEDOM FRIENDS is a full family membership, not just a weekly class.

Every enrolled family receives personalized homeschool support, access to the parent community right away, and a weekly rhythm that supports both the children and the parents.

🕰️CLASS TIME TOGETHER
Weekly parent present gatherings on Thursdays from 10AM to 1PM, primarily the S**o Classroom on Main Street, with local field trips detailed on the calendar (linked on website)

🗓️Family Planning Session
Each family receives an included support session. You may choose a private Telegram support week or a private pre-scheduled 90 minute call.

📱 Telegram Parent Community
Once your family secures enrollment, you receive access to the parent Telegram group for connection, updates, and support.

🌻Summer Gatherings
Enrolled families will be invited to complimentary summer connection opportunities as the group begins forming before September.

👣Mixed Age Learning
Preschoolers, younger homeschoolers, and older children gather family style so children can learn from one another naturally.

📝Portfolio Support Layer
Families receive gentle guidance for noticing and documenting growth, learning, friendship skills, and meaningful moments throughout the year.

📣Parent Responsibility
Parents remain responsible for supervision, snacks, bathroom help, and child safety while Maria facilitates the rhythm and social emotional learning environment.

Last year, I was going into the local natural grocery store, when a mom recognized me and asked, "Are you The Homeschool Admin?"
"Yep, that's me", I said both excited and nervous (because I'm quite opinionated online).

She reminded me she is one of my Instagram followers and started to talk to me about homeschooling. She explained that her daughter was rejected from a private academy because of a medical exemption not being 'valid' in this state, though she has one for her daughter.

She shared that she had decided to homeschool, and when I asked what felt hard, she said: "I'm not sure I can juggle it all."

She knew my work, so I didn't explain in depth that I could help but said I had a spot open if her family wanted the support, I'd be happy to help, when she was ready.

A year later, she reached out. This time she shared that she was going to be a mother of 2 soon and that she'd been homeschooling her older daughter but has continued to feel overwhelmed. She was beginning to see that if she continued the way things were going, she'd risk her daughter losing the love of learning somewhere between trying to do it all perfectly and seeing her mom burnout.

When I asked what prompted her to reach out this time she said, it was because the day before she had a panic attack and was worried about losing the connection with her daughter.

I spoke with her and her husband, and they both were so happy to have someone to speak with and he even said 'let's look at the offer and get you registered this week' to his wife while I was on the phone.

She was ready for and needed help - so I shared my offers...
..BUT WHAT I WAS OFFERING WAS 'WAY MORE THAN WHAT SHE NEEDED'.
(Boy, have I heard this more than once!)

That's when IT HIT ME...

I was offering the deep dive before people knew if they even wanted to swim.

In reflecting, I knew she just needed someone to point out what was working, share what actually matters for her daughter, now, and then work with them to help bring back the joy.

They needed a voice of reason, and I had underestimated that but offering them 'everything I could'.

The truth is that so many homeschooling parents in these 5 years of serving have always just needed simple direction, next steps, and reassurance.
I'd built THRIVE for families ready to commit and hand things off their plate... that's not many homeschooling mamas.

I've admittingly been missing the ones who needed to start somewhere or just someone to talk to...
The ones unsure if homeschooling was right.

The ones with another baby coming, overwhelmed, wondering if they should keep going.

The ones who wanted community but couldn't afford a five-figure commitment.

And so, I listened.

In the first 2 years that I ran this program it was truly a gift to the children who attended the lessons, but also to the mothers as well - so I must share this with you!

During the first class one of the children said, "Okay I'm done, I'm ready to go!".

When I heard him say that I looked at the clock and thought OH NO!, 'there's 30 more minutes left to class'.

I kept teaching, then I heard him say, "but I'm not ready to leave my friends!"
*GASP* 🙂

You can imagine the relief I felt; then pure joy, thinking, 'wow it's working'.

Later in the season, a homeschooling mother of 3 said it was the most 'chill' group of homeschool moms she's met.

Another homeschool parent said she "loved all the interaction and seeing [her son] in a structured setting was nice".
BEST OF ALL - You should have seen the children's faces when they realized they were all homeschoolers!

So naturally, they were thrilled to find out they would see each other again each week!

IT WAS TRULY A SUCCESS!

Homeschool friendships blossomed between kids and moms alike!

From dialogue to real moments of personal interactions the room fills with rich discussion!

We talked about the state of Maine and used maps to help the kiddos grasp their place in our state (friends traveled in from over 50 minutes away), we had talks about family values and family trees, our own personal feelings, making mistakes, trying again, 'sharing the mic' and our materials too!

Ultimately, the kids learned, the mamas learned, and so did I!

FREEDOM FRIENDS is a semi-structure family hybrid class and adventure group of weekly curated 3hr sessions full of fun activities that foster friendship and social emotional growth exclusive to homeschooling children
I am excited to announce that FREEDOM FRIENDS ENROLLMENT IS OPEN and 2 families have applied and one has already secured their spot with a deposit!

This is a weekly in-person homeschool program that begins THURSDAY Sept.10th, 2026 and runs through May 2027.

Freedom Friends is a family style program open to ALL AGE homeschoolers and runs for 9 months, it's an enrichment experience that was established by The Homeschool Admin in 2023.​
