Columbia County Sports x The Lava Dome

We’re proud to announce our partnership between Columbia County Sports (CCS) and The Lava Dome as we join forces to tackle challenges in youth sports and provide equitable access to recreation for all athletes across Columbia County.

About Columbia County Sports (CCS):

Locally founded, CCS is committed to creating high-quality sports and entertainment facilities for people of all ages in Columbia County. Our mission is to unite the community by providing fun, family-oriented sporting experiences and supporting local school boosters and recreational programs.

The Columbia County Sports Foundation (CCSF), the non-profit arm of CCS, is focused on addressing barriers to sports participation and promoting equity and inclusion in athletics. Together, CCS and CCSF will be working hand in hand to foster opportunities for all athletes and provide meaningful support to local sports programs.

About The Lava Dome:

Founded in 2022, headquartered here in Oregon, The Lava Dome is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization addressing critical issues in youth sports, including:
-Access for Low-Income Families: Reducing financial barriers like registration fees, equipment costs, and travel expenses.
-Gender Inequities: Ensuring equal resources and opportunities for girls and boys.
-Weather-Related Challenges: Offering solutions for lost playing time due to inclement weather, wildfire smoke, and extreme heat across Oregon.

The Lava Dome is on a mission to level the playing field and create opportunities for all athletes to thrive, regardless of their circumstances. Their vision includes addressing these challenges and creating spaces that foster growth, health, and equality, across the United States.

As we move towards full funding and construction, we are excited to announce the plans for a forthcoming initiative: an in-house adaptive softball league!

Exciting things coming from PepsiCo and The Lava Dome!

We met with our friends at Pepsi for a tour of their bottling facility in Mt. Angel last week. Seeing the meticulous processes and attention to detail that goes into each product was eye-opening! Pepsi truly has a rigorous commitment to quality and we’ve never tasted such fresh soda! 😄
