Judo Dojo Yukidaruma PLEASE NOTE WE ARE NOW MEETING IN THE BASEMENT. AS OF JUNE 1, 2013 USJA MEMBERSHIP WILL BE PRIMARY. Judo uses leverage against a larger individual.

Founded in 1882 by Professor Jigoro Kano, Judo is a self-defense derived from the ancient forms of Jiu-Jitsu. Professor Kano being smaller in stature gracefully subdued his opponents with great ease with a well-performed throw. Throwing an opponent or using a diversionary technique with leverage and pinning them to the ground are some of the functions of this style. Today, Judo is used as a compet

itive sport as well as a great self-defense method and is universal throughout the world. It is also an Olympic Sport.

Breakfast Kampai!
Not on the mat but with those I have spent the most time on the mat with. Sensei's Kurt Walz and Doc Watson and Sempai Erin Schneemann.
I am a believer in the maxims " Self praise is no praise." and "don't chase Rank."
But the US Kodokan Committee and the Kodokan both felt I was worthy of Sandan from the Kodokan.
Thank you so much, I hope all my Sensei's Dr. L Rotkin, Betty West, Walter Ing, Cliff Wolff, Jelana Ing and Marc Cohen are proud.
I know the best part of Judo is the camaraderie of those you share on your road to shibumi.
