Important Update: New Youth Soccer Age Group Guidelines

Beginning with this Fall Season, Sayreville AA Soccer will be using the new U.S. Soccer age group registration guidelines.

What's Changing?

New age group cycle: August 1 – July 31

This replaces the previous calendar-year (January 1 – December 31) registration system.

Why Was This Change Made?

The new age group structure was adopted by U.S. Soccer to better align youth sports with the school calendar. This means:

More players will be placed with classmates and friends.

Smoother transitions during important school years, such as middle school and high school.

A more consistent developmental pathway for players across youth soccer organizations.

What Does This Mean for Your Family?

Some players may move into a different age division than they would have under the previous system. This is expected and is part of the nationwide transition to the new registration model.

If you're unsure which division your child belongs in, please refer to our updated Age Group Chart or contact us—we're happy to help!

Last Saturday we had 2 teams win the SYSL Championship in their respective age groups.
U15 Landsharks were undefeated and won the championship for the 5th time
U13 FC Blaze won in their first season
