Greetings,

For the first time in six years I will not have a child playing within the Saxtons River Recreational Soccer League(SRRS).

I am looking for a parent/guardian(s) who can volunteer to take over operations of the Saxtons River Recreation Soccer League. I can assist in getting these individuals oriented for the soccer season and will be available to answer any questions.

Throughout the years SRRS has been operated by the parent/guardian(s) of those who play soccer. The league is made up of students Kindergarten through 6th grade who live in or attend school in Saxtons River, Grafton, Athens, Bellows Falls, and Rockingham however we have never turned a child from another town away.

I have received many messages about soccer sign ups. SRRS Sign ups are not done until the first week of school.

I have attached a complete file detailing what had historically been needed in my experience to keep the league running.

The Saxtons River Soccer League would like to hold Bake Sales during home games to raise money for field line maintenance and the scholarship fund. The League is in search of baked goods, snacks and drinks to be donated for these games. Please help support the league and bake for a good cause!

Home games take place at the Saxton River Recreation Area please bring baked goods that you are able to donate to the field.

Good afternoon soccer families,
Monday September 25, 2023 5/6 has been invited to play the Hilltop Montessori School in Brattleboro Vt at 4:30pm. There field is located at 99 Stafford Farm Hill Brattleboro VT 05301.

The 3/4 group has been invited to Putney to play the Putney Central School at 5:00pm. There field is located at 182 Westminster Rd, Putney, VT.

At this time I am attempting to arrange some games against Westminster for our younger teams as they have been the only other team I have found that will travel.

Additional T-shirts and sweatshirts will be available for order and purchase prices are as follows:

Adult & Child Sweatshirt: $35
Adult & Child T-Shirt: $20

Orders will be taken via email and at practices. Payment is due by September 27, 2023. See Coach Christina for orders.

Good afternoon,
The weather is always a tricky thing to work with, as of right now we will be having soccer practice. The field is wet but not flooded and the rain is suppose to stop when practice starts with good temperatures remaining.
Practice will end of rain becomes heavy or a thunderstorm begins. If you do not wish to play in the rain we completely understand. At this time we will still be holding practice. It will be muggy and warm, I suggest bug spray.

Good evening,
Due to the high heat index with high temperatures predicted for the evening of Wednesday September 6th 2023 the first practice has been canceled. The first soccer practice for all ages will be Monday September 11, 2023 at 5:30 pm. I have reached out to Putney Central School to reschedule the 3/4 game on Wednesday September 13, 2023 to ensure at least two practices are had prior to having a game.

Saxtons River Soccer League is in search of someone to apply lines to the big soccer field and the two smaller soccer fields at the Saxtons River Rec. I have the supplies, am willing to assist and feel confident to reapply throughout the season however I do not possess the skill to make a large rectangle 🤷‍♀️ I was told there are markers in the ground to make lining the field easier that were placed in 2020 however I was unable to locate them with my metal detector. Any help or leads would be appreciated. 🙂 Thank you all in advance!

First day of practice is coming up quickly Wednesday September 6 at 5:30pm. Don’t forget you will need soccer cleats, shin guards and we encourage mouth guards.

There is still time to sign up! We accept all children from area towns as well, this is not a school sponsored event.

Good Afternoon,

Practices will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays 5:30pm -6:30pm.

Kindergarten Monday
1st and 2nd grade Monday
3rd and 4th grade Monday and Wednesday
5th and 6th grade Monday and Wednesday

We will be meeting on Monday September 4th at 530 to get the field ready, many hands make light work!

First Practice is Wednesday, September 6th.
