Awesome seminar last night at Empower Jiu Jitsu with Eddie

We spent the time digging into fundamentals and then expanding them into deeper concepts from his book, not just going through techniques, but actually working through Jiu Jitsu in a way where you could feel it start to make sense while training. A lot of back and forth, a lot of reps, and by the end you could see people starting to understand what they were doing, not just copy it.

Highly recommend having him out!

Eddie will be teaching a seminar at Empower Jiu-Jitsu on April 29th, and I am really looking forward to this one!

We are going to be focusing on the deeper concepts and patterns that connect all of Jiu Jitsu together, helping you understand not just what to do, but why things work, how positions connect, and how to use less wasted effort under resistance.

Most people do not struggle because they need more techniques. They struggle because they cannot see the structure underneath everything they are learning.

If you have ever felt like you know a lot of moves but still cannot put it all together when rolling, this seminar is for you. All of the details are on the flyer and I hope to see you there.

I had a bunch to say last night but after the sound of the room after calling Mike's name last night said everything!

If you were in the room you felt how genuine the applause was and how excited and how deserving this belt was was Mike.

Mike is an amazing guy. I've never heard this guy complain about his job, his family, his life, how hard Jiu Jitsu is. Nothing. You can't help but smile and be in a good mood around Mike.

Mike since starting Jiu Jitsu has lost over 50 pounds. Mike is 6'6. He is a gentle giant and someone that can dial down to help a smaller teenager and dial up with the big boys. His calmness under pressure and being tired is so awesome.

Mike I am proud of you and I am lucky to have you on the mats!

We had 5 father and son pairs on the mats training together. This isn't even all of them! I absolutely love this!

Congrats to Alex on his Blue Belt!Β
πŸŸ¦πŸŸ¦πŸŸ¦β¬›οΈβ¬›οΈπŸŸ¦

The morning Blues are growing.

Alex has been with us for a good while now, and over that time he has shown exactly the kind of consistency, attitude, and work ethic that this belt should represent.

Alex has been the kind of person that makes the room better.Β  Help other students especially the younger guys, usually the last person to leave. Alex pushes people to get extra work in.

Something else I respect about Alex is that even when he's dealing with an injury, he still shows up. He finds a way to work around it, keep learning, and keep moving forward. A lot of people use that as a reason to stop or take a break. He uses it as a reason to keep going.
