Starting Get That Body Dance & Fitness wasn't a plan, it was a prayer for freedom. Freedom to be available when my children needed me to show up for school activities, sports, recitals, conferences, appointments, and more. Freedom to be able to financially provide for my immediate family, in my home and for family outside of my home, if needed. To be able to help and be there for my friends. To give back when help was needed. God did that. I've always been a provider. I've always served. God knew/know my heart. Becoming a personal trainer was not a goal, or something I grew up hoping to become. It all happened in God's timing, with God's purpose being the reason. Have I always been an athlete, absolutely. Muscular and strong, definitely. A model, dancer, and into Performing Arts, yes. Since a kid, those things will always be my passion. At some point, did I get away from that, looking like that, heck feeling like that, yes. In the mist of losing myself, I was still helping others find their way. That has always been the goal, to help, to be there. Through the years I lost that girl, that drive, that love. Eventually, I looked in the mirror and got real with myself and said, I did this to me. I allowed this and Im tired of myself looking and feeling this way. So I decided to do something about it. I cried, took a pic, posted it, and started one day at a time. It was a process that many times felt very slow but, I didn't give up. I kept going. To this day, Im still putting in work. I still find myself at times, inconsistent, and not disciplined enough. Life has been happening and it's ok. Through the years, I've learned that Get That Body became more than a physical thing to do. It was a mental and emotional space I needed to get as well. My trainings are from real life experiences. That's why it works. Thats why my clients results are incredible because I try to help them understand the mental process first, and then the physical follow. I can say, I do this because I am this. This is an assignment and purpose placed on my life. I didn't choose it. So until God tell me something different, I must continue to serve and show up to help my clients on their journey. I wanted to stop and move to what I felt was next, but God said do what I said and I will do the rest. For me, that's how I've always moved. I trust God's plans and vision before my own because I don't be understanding nothing... lol and I'm definitely not leaning on my own understanding. God got me and God got you. Believe that... keep putting in the work. Don't let up. Stop focusing on what would be easier. You made it this far... keep going. You are equipped for everything that could come your way. If you look back over your life, you could testify to that. If life bark... stick ya chest out bark back. But DONT QUIT. I promise you are NOT alone. ππ½
I hope this inspires someone to have faith in God's promises. You may not understand everything and thats ok. But trust God to lead you. Things get hard and life will definitely cause pain but once you understand that God sees you, hear every prayer, and gives you what you need daily, rather you recognize it or not... you will be just fine... think about it in truth, not in desperation. Be still. Be quiet. Be calm. Be full of faith. You're amazing but God is MAGNIFICENT. Have a blessed day.
