ISR Savannah

ISR Savannah The sooner, the safer! The result? Join our mission of "Not One More Child Drowns" and enroll your child today!

Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) goes beyond traditional swimming instruction, by teaching children aged 6 months to 6 years old survival swimming techniques designed to help them survive should they reach the water alone. Infant Swimming Resource's Self-Rescue® program is nationally recognized as the safest provider of survival swimming lessons for infants and young children. With over 50 years of

experience and the highest standards in the industry, ISR is able to deliver the best survival swimming instruction in the world today. Over 8 million safe and effective lessons delivered, providing children with a foundation for safety and a lifetime of fun in and around the water. Founded in 1966 by Dr. Harvey Barnett, Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) is now the global leader in the industry it pioneered: survival swimming lessons for infants and young children. Our team of nearly 700 highly trained ISR Instructors provides the safest and most effective survival swimming lessons available. The ISR Self-Rescue instruction our students receive today is the product of more than 50 years of research and achieves unparalleled results. ISR believes that pool fences, supervision, and pool alarms are important parts of a necessary multi-layered approach to drowning prevention. However, traditional lines of defense break down, and the over 4,000 drowning deaths per year bear a grim testament to the fact that traditional approaches are missing a key component: the child. ISR’s core conviction is that the child is the most important part of a drowning prevention strategy and our over 300,000 ISR graduates and 800 documented survival stories are proof that children can save themselves. Children are curious, capable, and have an uncanny ability to overcome obstacles like pool fences; at ISR we take that ability and teach them skills to potentially save themselves if they find themselves in the water alone.

We’ve got some sweet kiddos back for a refresher course with Danielle and Kate!

An ISR Refresher typically runs 3 weeks long after the initial ISR course that is 6-7 weeks in duration. We recommend ISR Refreshers 1-2 times each year to refresh previously learned skills and progress swim abilities. As children grow quickly, their center of buoyancy changes with their growth and development which is a great reason why an ISR refresher helps to sharpen and maintain those aquatic safety skills!

If you’re interested in ISR, please reach out to join our mailing list for upcoming sessions, safety tips, and more! 🐠 🏊‍♂️ ☀️

🥁Drum roll for our second new ISR instructor - Danielle!!🎉💦👏🏼

Danielle is a long time acquaintance that (lucky for me!) grew into one of my dearest friends. You will be so impressed with her gentle demeanor, sincere heart and cheerful attitude, I guarantee it! Danielle will be seeing returning students in July for a refresher session before welcoming her baby girl and taking maternity leave until next Spring. What a blessing to have her as part of the ISR Savannah team!

We’re THRILLED you’re here, Danielle!!💕🏊

——————————————————————————

Hello! My name is Danielle Hess and I am a wife and mom of soon to be 5 littles- one boy and
four girls. My husband and I met when we were in college at the United States Military
Academy at West Point. When my family settled in Savannah, Georgia in 2018, I went to
nursing school at Georgia Southern and became a registered nurse. I’ve always had an affinity toward the water as I lived by the ocean growing up, became a beach lifeguard at 16 years old, and was a competitive swimmer in middle school and high school.
When I was just 6 years old I saved my brother from drowning in our family pool when he was 2
years old. While my dad was filling my bike tires on the other side of the backyard, my brother,
bypassing the security of the gate to the pool, toddled into the pool area and jumped into the
deep end with no floatation device. I can’t fully explain why I went looking for him or what
made me check the pool area, but I am thankful I did and was able to jump in and bring him to
the shallow end while calling for my dad’s help. Since then, I’ve learned the value of water
safety for all- especially for our most vulnerable population- children. Since becoming a
mother myself and having been an ISR Mom watching my children go through the course, I
have become even more of an avid proponent of educating all on water safety and I am so
excited to be a part of the ISR Savannah community!
